Dr. Forbes Lecture and Pot Luck Supper
October 30, 2019
Dr. Belinda Forbes is going to tell us about her work providing dental care to remote locations in Nicaragua, where people often have to travel over a day’s journey for medical care. Please bring a pot luck item to share.
Gather sponsors and join us in a 20-mile walk in Vernon, Ellington, and East Windsor. Walk what you can of the 20-mile round-trip route. Registration begins at 7 am. The walk starts at 7:30 am.
The money raised goes to Sharing Inc. and The Cornerstone Foundation.

Shine and Rise!
Our outing on Friday’s Valentine Day was postponed due to bad weather and a tractor-trailer rollover on route 31.
Instead, we went out on Presidents’ Day to the Park and Ride lot off route 31 to pass out free coffee. Starting at 6:30 AM, we met five (5) commuter buses and handed out hot coffee to many passengers as they boarded the CT Express bus.
Along with the coffee was a packet with sugar, creamers, Valentine candy and a Showing God’s Love calling card with our church information. It was a good outing, but cold at 11 degrees.
We plan to try a different outreach in April.
