When I was in high school, we studied Shakespeare’s play Macbeth and had to memorize these lines.  Sometimes when I have had an especially good night’s sleep, I think of the first line….which is a kind of healing.

“Sleep that knits up the ravel’d sleave of care,

The death of each day’s life,

sore labor’s bath,

Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,

Chief nourisher in life’s feast.”
