Stan’s Corner, December 10, 2011

We are discussing a book in the adult class on Sunday mornings and we came across this sentence:  “Mature religion, far from doing away with ambiguity, gives us the grace to live with it.”  I have heard something like this before but was looking for an illustration when I found this in a daily devotional book:

“Today I can feel anger toward someone and still love them.

I can feel afraid of new experiences, yet move forward through them.

I can survive being hurt without giving up on love.

And I can experience sadness and still be confident that I will be happy again.”

Courage to Change (December 4)

This to me is living with ambiguity.
