I found an article in today’s USA Today’s sports section about Eric LeGrand, a former football player for Rutgers who, in making a tackle a year ago, became paralyzed from the neck down and was told he would never breathe again without a ventilator.  He proved them wrong and with a great attitude has done very well.  Even though he is still in special wheelchair, he says this, “I believe it happened for a reason.  I was meant to help other people, touch other people’s heart.  Also to realize that life is a gift.  Be happy with what you have.  I was at Kessler Rehabilitation Center for five months.  There’s always someone that’s worse than you.”
