Stan’s Corner, Monday, September 26

We have a subscription to the British Heritage magazine and in one of the recent copies there is this interesting quote:

“My heart’s in the Highlands,

My heart is not here;

My heart’s in the Highlands a-chasing the deer;

Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,

My heart’s in the Highlands, wherever I go.”

Robert Burns

This poem says to me that there is a deep part of myself that is somewhere outside myself wherever I go.  It might be a place, it might be a person or it might be God.
